As a copywriter, you should know this: copy without keywords doesn’t get read. And copy with great keywords, but terrible copy won’t convert.

You can see how SEO writers are essential to businesses that want more customers from search engines. They write pages and ads that rank higher than yours, which means your potential customers will click their links instead of yours. But copywriters serve a purpose in other areas as well.

How Much Money Can Copywriters Make?

There’s no easy answer for this question – not because the answer is nebulous or subjective, but because there are so many variables involved in freelance work pricing that it’s near-impossible to give an exact number for general writing jobs. There’s no copywriting rate chart you can refer to, so let’s talk about how writers price their copy.

Of course, it usually indicates naivete and little or no experience on the copywriter’s part, but at least it gives you a ballpark figure to work with.

If your copy is well-written and sells products – then writers will come to you asking for more jobs. In addition, you’ll find aspiring copywriters contacting you or submitting their rates online if they like what they see in your copy – which means that a good copywriter knows how to pick out a good copy too and can tell when someone else has written it.

So let’s take a look at exactly how much freelance copywriters make on average for some easy numbers we can refer back to later:

If you’re going to hire a copywriter – make sure they’ll do modifications until you’re happy with the copy; it’s got to be “just right” if your customers are going to click on that copy and buy your product.
